Graduated (MBBS) from Jabalpur India, in 1985. Post graduate diploma in Radiation Medicine (DRM) in 1988 followed by DNB (Diplomate of National Board) in Nuclear Medicine in 1992. Total experience of 23 years in Clinical Nuclear Medicine out of which 20 years is in Nuclear Oncology.

Presently working as Director Department of Nuclear medicine at Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and research centre New-Delhi, India. Joined the institution in February 1998.

Recipient of UICC scholar award during the World Cancer Congress July ’06 Washington DC & August 2010 Shenzen China.

Chief Scientific Investigator in the IAEA CRP ‘Standardisation & quality control of in-house prepared radiopharmaceuticals in Nuclear Oncology’ and the first co-investigator in the IAEA CRP ‘ Evaluation of a single utilization of pulmonary perfusion scintigraphy in patients with suspected pulmonary embolism’.Department of Nuclear Medicine, Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Center, New Delhi is the site for the above two CRP’s

Investigator initiated prospective research project 18F-FDG (Fluoro-deoxy glucose) kinetics in infective and inflammatory pathology : Is it different from malignancy?
as Principal Investigator. We are evaluating the FDG kinetics in infective process especially in tuberculosis by semiquantitative methods to help increase the specificity of FDG in malignant disorders.

Investigator initiated prospective research project entitled Surgery & Radioiodine therapy combined within 1 week post thyroidectomy with recombinant TSH (r-TSH) stimulation versus the standard thyroxine abstinence protocol in differentiated thyroid carcinoma, initiated in 2011 and deals with the utility of exogenous TSH stimulation to facilitate radioiodine treatment in differentiated thyroid carcinoma. The study has been approved by ethics committee of the institute and is ongoing. The preliminary ongoing data has been presented in the Nuclear Medicine Update Singapore in March 2012 and will be presented in WFNMB 2014 in Cancun Mexico.

Member of the institutional review board (ethics committee), the medical audit committee,selection board for the consultants, radiation safety committee and bio-safety committee. Served as the convener of the ethics committee from 2002-2005.
